Totally agree with bbwannab. Guys had smaller waistlines and were living works of art (-: Today’s BB’s are too massive, takes away from the definition and symmetry. HGH guts are not appealing to many.

beeflover, for me it was the ’70s and 80’s, before the advent of growth hormone use and the resulting facial distortion and monster guts (yuk!)

I think the 1980s were the tail end of the golden age of bodybuilders, before drugs really took hold. My favorites are guys from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and early ’80s. They’re not huge like today, but they look better, healthier. .
